GST-E

Postby mrsrt8 on Fri Aug 10, 2012 11:00 am

Cen,

First, I'm excited to see Genesis finally goes brushless. Second, I know this is a heavy truck would it be better to comes with 150A ESC as standard than 80A?

I'm hoping this forum will revive soon, since I haven't received any reply from my previous post.

PROJECT GST-E

Postby Stduplic on Tue Apr 23, 2013 4:15 am

Hello,
i am converting my old GST 7.7 into brushless...
Allready bought this stuff and everything its on way to me ...

CEN Brushless conversion kit
Castle Creation Mamba monster V2 ESC
Castle Creation 1515/2200KV motor
Zippy Flyghtmax LIPO 3S1P x 2pcs 8000mAh 30C constant-40C burst (it will be serial conection for 6S 8000mAh-22,2V)

Is there any wheelie bar i can buy for GST?

What about diff oil for center/front/rear will You suggest me?

What pinion should i use with this setup/or what gear ratio should i target for?

Thank You all...

I bought myself a GST-E last year and love it! I'm also looking for a wheelie bar for my truck, but couldn't find any.
Sorry can't help you the gears set-up, I'm not good in this area! ;)

You'll probably want to gear it down a bit for 6S. Stock pinion is 12T. You can get as low as 10T if you look hard.

Apparently, yes. (correction)

Folks I know with them like 300 - 500k in the center diff, and 30k in the front & rear.

12T is good for at least 40 mph on 4S LiPo. Unless you put smaller tires on it, I'd gear down to 10T for 6S, and watch your motor temps. The Castle 1515 is the most efficient motor on the market right now, so it runs cooler than the stock Hobbywing motors and doesn't need a fan unless you're over-gearing it.

Late reply, but maybe others will benefit from it over time.

Don't forget shock oil and springs. In stock form, with the white springs and thick shock oil, it is QUITE firm; good for jumping, but not for cruising around offroad at high speed. I went to 22.5 wt. oil in the shocks and will experiment with the red springs, as white is too stiff for my kind of driving.

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum but not to the GST-E. It's a great truck and I've had three so far. Tires are a big problem but currently running 17mm hexes and some trenchers.
any suggestions on good 17mm tires for all terrain bashing?

[If it's water proof, why do I see rust?]
colossus hobbywing 150a quickrun poseidon 1515 motor
colossus mm2. Poseidon 1515 motor
E revo mm2. Poseidon 1515 ( stock gearing)

Just go over there and snap it back in daddy!
